11 GPs honoured in Queen’s Birthday Awards 2017

The prestigious Queen’s Birthday Honours are awarded to individuals across Australia in recognition and celebration of their work and dedicated service to our communities. The presentation of this respected honour coincides with the Queen’s official birthday in June each year.

With over 900 Australian’s recognised as part of the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours, of the 11 general practitioners honoured this year, we are proud to say seven are accredited with AGPAL and QIP.

The AGPAL Group of Companies would like to congratulate the following Queen’s Birthday Honorees:

Member of the Order of Australia (AM)

  • Dr Tim Mooney (AM), Anne Street Medical Services Pty Ltd, George Town, TAS
    For significant service to medicine through a range of multiple practice roles, to doctors in rural and remote areas, and to the community.
  • Dr John Moran (AM), King Street Medical Centre, Murwillumbah, NSW
    For significant service to medicine in northern New South Wales, to medical administration and education, and to the community.
  • Dr Catherine Regan (AM), Elermore Vale General Practice, Newcastle, NSW
    For significant service to medicine in the field of general practice training and education, and to the community of the Hunter.

Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM)

  • Dr Roger Davidson (OAM), Strathfield, NSW
    For service to medicine, to education, and to the community.
  • Dr Richard Herlihy (OAM), Leura NSW
    For service to medical professional support organisations.
  • Dr John Kramer (OAM), Beach Street Family Practice, Woolgoolga, NSW
    For service to medicine as a general practitioner in regional areas.
  • Dr John  McLaren (OAM), Cowra Medical Associates, Cowra, NSW
    For service to the community of Cowra, and to medicine.
  • Dr Mehdi Pour (OAM), Tristar Medical Group,  Mildura, VIC
    For service to medicine as a general practitioner in Mildura.
  • Dr Robert Rogers (OAM), Reservoir Medical Group, Kew, VIC
    For service to the community as a general practitioner, and through support for asylum seekers and refugees.
  • Dr Jamal Rifi (OAM), Belmore, NSW
    For significant service to the Lebanese community of New South Wales, as an advocate for multi-faith relations, and to medicine.
  • Dr Hugh Seward (OAM), Newtown Medical Centre, Newtown, VIC
    For significant service to Australian rules football as a physician, particularly to the prevention and management of injuries.
