AGPAL is a leading not-for-profit organisation, established in 1997 by industry members, as a provider for general practice accreditation and quality improvement services within Australia. AGPAL is part of the AGPAL Group of Companies.

Based on client feedback and our years of experience, we have refined the general practice accreditation process to assist practices with understanding required actions, while ensuring a smooth accreditation experience. We believe in:

Across our website, information flyers and marketing materials you will see this artwork by Jordan Lovegrove, Ngarrindjeri, of Dreamtime Creative. The artwork depicts AGPAL and QIP’s partnership between companies and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical services, communities and service providers. AGPAL is represented by the left large meeting place in the blue and black while QIP is represented by the right large meeting place in the light and dark blue. The different Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical and community services are represented by the coloured meeting circles and the communities they serve are represented by the dots and pattern work in the background. The pathways in-between show AGPAL and QIP supporting the health and community service providers to constantly improve their service delivery to care and support for members of the Australian community.

Jordan is a Ngarrindjeri young man who combines intimate knowledge of Aboriginal communities and illustration skills to develop outstanding Indigenous artwork which is applied to a range of print and online communications.
Re-investing to benefit practices
To ensure practices are appropriately supported with tools and resources, and customer service expectations are exceeded, AGPAL remain a not-for-profit organisation. Being a not-for-profit allows us to continuously re-invest back into the business to improve our general practice accreditation and related service offerings.
This re-investment means greater benefits for practices at more competitive rates, allowing the delivery of improved outcomes and benefits, as well as greater industry involvement and support.
AGPAL brings together a comprehensive combination of history, expertise, experience and knowledge, cultivated since accrediting our first group of general practices in 1997.
AGPAL remains the preferred accreditation provider for the majority of general practices accredited in Australia.
AGPAL is dedicated to working with clients to meet the requirements of the national industry standards – the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner Standards for general practices.
Since AGPAL was established in 1997, we have remained governed by an industry Board of Directors and 10 Member Organisations.
This governance structure allows AGPAL to work in partnership with each of the nine member organisations and to be advised by industry members through our Board of Directors, delivering more value, expertise, insights and benefits to practices across Australia.

Quality Innovation Performance Certifications Pty Ltd (QIP Certifications) is an independent certifying body that provides ‘international best practice’ third-party certification services with a difference – tailoring certification solutions to the individual needs of their health and community services clients.
QIP Certifications certifies against the Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) and ISO 9001:2015, and provide a collaborative process, supportive staff and sector experienced auditors who are carefully matched to each client to create a value-adding, culturally safe certification experience.
Consistent with our commitment to quality and accreditation, AGPAL is accredited by the International Society for Quality Health Care (ISQua). As an accredited organisation we participate in self-assessment and external evaluation on a regular basis, ensuring our approach to the provision of accreditation and certification services is consistent with international best practice.
